Our '55 was found in a garage in Picayune, Ms. It had
been completely disassembled in 1991 and thousands of $$$ in new
parts purchased which were still in the boxes. The owner
passed away and his widow sold it to us in March '05.
This was the first frame off restoration attempted by
us, but we had good friends that were real gear heads and they
helped steer us in the right direction. Almost all the work
was done by Dave, son Brent and myself in our garage.
Restoration only took 4 months, but it was 7 days a week and 12
hours a day. It turned out pretty good so we took it to
Detroit last August for the 50th birthday party for the '55.
After returning from Detroit in mid August we parked it in the
garage only to have Katrina crush the roof.
By '06 we had it back on the road and are having a
great time with it and meeting lots of great people since.
